About Blender Bros. (u)(mode7)
Blender Bros. came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Hudson Soft. It was part of that early GBA period where developers were experimenting with the hardware, trying out different ideas for platformers. This one stood out for its visual style and a central mechanic that felt genuinely new at the time.
You control one of the Blender Bros, Ray or Pico, navigating through levels screen by screen. Your main goal is to defeat enemies and collect the fruit they drop. The signature mechanic is your vacuum weapon; you suck up enemies, then launch them back out as projectiles. You can also use this vacuum to pull yourself across gaps or up to higher platforms, which adds a puzzle element to the action. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later stages. Playing it feels like a constant, quick-witted juggling act between offense and movement.
