Black Belt (usa, Europe) Game

Black Belt is basically Sega's Westernized take on Hokuto no Ken—you know, that brutal anime where dudes explode from pressure point punches. They stripped out the gore and most of the story, so what’s left is a pretty straightforward side-scrolling brawler where you punch, kick, and occasionally throw enemies across the screen.
It’s got that classic Master System vibe—chunky sprites, stiff controls, and weirdly satisfying sound effects when you land a hit. The first stage throws you into a desert wasteland (because of course it does) where shirtless goons charge at you in predictable patterns. Once you figure out the timing, you can cheese most fights by spamming jump kicks, but later levels mix things up with knife throwers and dudes who actually block.
Not gonna lie, it’s janky by modern standards, but there’s something oddly charming about how over-the-top it is. You’ll finish it in under an hour if you’re decent at old-school games.
