The game is a side-scrolling action platformer where you run, jump, and fight through levels set across the island of Mata Nui. Your main goal is to stop the Bohrok swarms from wiping out everything. You explore screen by screen, battling enemies with your character's unique weapon, like Tahu's fire swords or Lewa's air axe. A key mechanic is swapping between the Toa on the fly to use their specific powers; for instance, you need Kopaka's ice ability to freeze water and create platforms. The levels are linear but packed with enemies and simple environmental puzzles, and the difficulty can feel a bit uneven, especially during some of the more crowded combat encounters. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes challenging run-and-jump game that captures the look of the Bionicle world.
