Bikkuriman 2000 - Charging Card GB is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games that never left Japan, but if you're into retro card battlers, it's a fun oddity. You start off picking a deck—I went with the fire cards first because, well, fire—and then it's this mix of rock-paper-scissors strategy and luck as you throw down cards against AI opponents. The pixel art's got that classic late-90s charm, all bright colors and chibi characters.
It’s not super deep, but there’s something satisfying about unlocking new cards and seeing how they combo. The menus are entirely in Japanese, though, so expect some trial and error unless you’re fluent. Still, if you’ve got nostalgia for this era or just dig obscure GBC games, it’s worth a few rounds. Just don’t expect a modern TCG experience.
