Battle Network RockMan EXE 2 came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Capcom. It was part of that early 2000s wave of GBA games that really tried to blend different genres, in this case mixing a traditional RPG with action-oriented battles. You don't see many games that attempt this kind of hybrid structure, and it stood out on the platform for that reason.

You control a boy named Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan, navigating two interconnected worlds. In the real world, you explore towns and talk to people from a top-down perspective, screen by screen. The main goal is to stop a global cyber-terrorist organization from causing havoc. When you jack into the internet, the game shifts to a grid-based battlefield for combat. Fights happen in real time; you select attack chips from a custom folder while dodging enemy assaults. The pacing is brisk, with frequent random encounters keeping you on your toes, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly during certain boss fights. It feels like a constant, engaging puzzle where you are always managing your resources and reflexes.
