I picked up Battle B-Daman for the Game Boy Advance back in 2006, a time when the handheld was full of anime adaptations. Atlus published it, and it fit right in with other action titles from that period, offering a straightforward take on the marble-shooting battles from the show.

You control a B-Daman shooter, aiming and firing marbles at opponents in turn-based arena fights. The main goal is to win tournaments by knocking out your rivals or clearing their marbles from the playfield. Key mechanics include charging your shot for more power and using special attacks that consume a meter; you also collect and equip different parts between battles to tweak your B-Daman's stats. The pacing is methodical, as you carefully line up ricochets and manage your limited ammo each turn, and the difficulty can spike during later matches. It feels like a tactical puzzle where every shot needs to count.
