Battle B-Daman: Fire Spirits! came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, developed by Hudson Soft. It was part of that wave of games based on anime and toy lines that were common on the handheld. You play as a kid who controls these mechanical marble-shooting creatures called B-Daman, and the whole game is built around their battles.

You control your character from an overhead view, walking around towns and fields to talk to people and find opponents. The main goal is to become the top B-Daman shooter by winning tournaments and story battles. The core of the game is the battle system itself. You aim your B-Daman on a tactical grid, charge your shot, and try to knock your opponent's marbles out of the arena or hit them directly. You collect different B-Daman and special attack marbles, which adds a light layer of customization. The pacing is straightforward, moving from one battle to the next with some exploration in between, and the difficulty feels fair as you learn the angles and timing for each shot. It feels satisfying to line up a perfect shot and watch your marble connect.
