Bass Masters Classic on GBC is one of those weirdly satisfying fishing sims where you actually spend more time strategizing than you'd think. At first, it's just you, a tiny boat, and a lake—but then you realize the bass move based on weather, time of day, and even the type of lure you're using. Mess up your cast, and you'll scare them off completely.

The controls are simple—button mashing to reel in fish, careful timing for the hook—but the tournaments get brutal fast. I lost my first one because I kept going for the flashy lures instead of the ones that actually worked in muddy water. Lesson learned. The pixelated fish sprites somehow make landing a big one feel legitimately rewarding.

It’s definitely a niche vibe, but if you’ve ever wanted to pretend you’re in a slow-motion fishing tournament while waiting for the bus, this does the job surprisingly well.
