About Banjo-pilot Voxel (prototype)
Banjo-Pilot Voxel is a prototype racing game for the Game Boy Advance that was never officially released. It was developed by Rare, the same studio behind the main Banjo-Kazooie series. This version represents an early take on the concept, appearing during a period when the GBA was home to many inventive, if sometimes unpolished, experiments from established developers.
You control Banjo, Kazooie, or other characters from their world in aerial races. The main goal is to finish first on twisting tracks that float in the sky. You collect golden feathers to shoot at rivals, temporarily slowing them down, and grab red feathers to get a short speed boost. The tracks are filled with shortcuts and hazards that require quick reflexes to navigate. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike on later courses where precise flying is essential. It feels like a chaotic, high-speed scramble where a single well-timed shot can completely change your position.
