Bakunetsu Dodge Ball Fighters came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2000, developed by KID and published by Media Factory. It was part of that wave of early GBA titles that explored how to translate arcade-style sports games onto the handheld. You don't see many dodgeball games, so this one always stood out to me on a system filled with RPGs and platformers.

You control a team of dodgeball players on a single screen court, moving your characters to catch the ball, throw it at opponents, and knock them out. The main goal is to eliminate every player on the other team before they eliminate yours. The signature mechanics are the special shots; by holding a button to charge, your character unleashes a flaming or electrified ball that's harder to catch and can sometimes take out multiple players. You also have a super meter that builds as you play, letting you unleash an even more powerful, screen-filling attack. The pacing is fast and the AI can be surprisingly aggressive, making you constantly reposition your team to avoid getting cornered. It feels chaotic and satisfying when you pull off a perfect throw that clears the other side.
