Bad Badtz-maru Robo Battle (japan) Game

So, Bad Badtz-Maru Robo Battle is one of those weird little Japan-only Game Boy Color gems—basically, you’ve got Sanrio’s grumpy little penguin piloting a mech and brawling in a turn-based RPG. It’s as bizarre as it sounds, but in the best way.
You start off picking your robot (of course I went with the one that looks like a penguin-shaped tank) and then jump into fights where you’re slinging punches, dodging attacks, and occasionally pulling off some ridiculous special move that fills half the screen with explosions. The sprites are chunky and cute, and the whole thing feels like someone mashed together Super Robot Wars with a Sanrio sticker book.
It’s not deep, but there’s something oddly satisfying about watching Badtz-Maru suplex a rival mech into oblivion. Definitely a niche pick, but if you’re into obscure GBC oddities, this one’s a trip.
