About Backyard Basketball (u)(chameleon)
Backyard Basketball came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003 from Humongous Entertainment. It was part of that wave of sports games on the GBA that tried to be more accessible and cartoonish, a nice alternative to the more simulation-heavy titles on home consoles.
You control a team of kids, including miniature versions of real NBA and WNBA stars, in two-on-two streetball games. The main goal is to win matches on various neighborhood courts. Key mechanics include pulling off special power-up shots that fill a meter as you play, and using simple button presses for passing, stealing, and shooting. The pace is quick, and the difficulty is forgiving, making it easy to pick up. It feels like a relaxed game of hoops with friends in the driveway.
