Backyard Basketball on the GBA is basically NBA Jam for kids, but with way more charm. You pick from these goofy, big-headed versions of real NBA and WNBA stars—I always went with Kobe because his cartoon version had this ridiculous fadeaway that somehow worked every time. The courts are all backyard-style, with random junk like lawn chairs and garden hoses as obstacles, which makes for some chaotic rebounds.
It’s arcadey as hell—no fouls, no refs, just fast 2-on-2 matches where you can pull off stupid alley-oops over a parked bike. The AI isn’t exactly smart, but that’s part of the fun when you’re dunking on a 10-foot-tall Shaq who looks like he escaped from a cereal box. Perfect for quick sessions when you just wanna mess around with basketball without taking it seriously.
