B-Legend! Battle B-Daman Fire Spirit is one of those weirdly addictive GBA games you stumble into and suddenly lose an hour to. It’s based on the B-Daman marble-shooting toy line, but don’t let that fool you—this is basically a fast-paced, anime-style arena battler where you ricochet shots off walls, charge up special attacks, and try to knock your opponent’s marble out of the ring.
The Japanese version (which is what this is) has a surprising amount of depth—you’ve got different B-Daman with unique stats, elemental affinities, and even little customization options. First match in, I got wrecked because I didn’t realize timing your charge shots matters more than spamming. The sprite work’s actually pretty slick for a GBA title, with these flashy super moves that feel satisfying to land.
If you’re into obscure competitive arcade-style games, it’s a solid hidden gem. Just be ready for some trial and error with the menus if you don’t read Japanese.
