Avatar: The Burning Earth came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2007, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of licensed games you'd find on the handheld, a side-scrolling adventure based on the second season of the animated series. The game lets you step into the world where Aang and his friends travel the Earth Kingdom.
You control Aang, Katara, and Sokka, switching between them to use their unique abilities. Aang attacks with his airbending staff, Katara uses her water whip, and Sokka throws his boomerang. The main goal is to fight through Fire Nation soldiers and spirits across different environments, from Earth Kingdom villages to fiery caves. You explore areas screen by screen, battling groups of enemies and occasionally solving simple puzzles, like using a specific character's move to hit a switch. The pacing is straightforward, though some enemy encounters can feel repetitive after a while. It feels like a condensed version of the show's journey, moving you from one familiar location to the next.
