If you're a fan of the Avatar cartoon, this GBA adaptation of The Burning Earth is a decent little side-scroller. You play as Aang, Katara, and the gang, switching between them to use their different bending abilities—fireballs with Zuko, water whips with Katara, that sort of thing. The sprites are surprisingly crisp for a GBA game, and the music nails that Avatar vibe.
It’s not super deep—you mostly punch through Fire Nation grunts and solve basic elemental puzzles—but it’s fun for a quick nostalgia hit. Just don’t expect the story to go beyond the show’s second season. The controls can feel a little stiff, especially when platforming, but swapping characters mid-fight keeps things interesting.
Definitely one for fans rather than hardcore action gamers. If you’ve got an emulator handy, it’s worth a lazy afternoon playthrough.
