This GBA game throws you right into Aang’s shoes—literally, since you start off dodging Fire Nation soldiers on his glider. The animation’s surprisingly smooth for a handheld, with those signature cartoon flips and airbending moves. Combat’s simple at first (tap attack, jump, repeat), but later you unlock more bending combos that actually make you feel like the Avatar.
It’s got that classic early-2000s licensed game vibe—some awkward platforming here, weird hitboxes there—but nailing a chain of air blasts to knock enemies off a ship never gets old. The sprite work nails the show’s art style, especially when Zuko shows up scowling in all his 16-bit glory. Just don’t expect a deep RPG or anything; it’s straight-up action with a few elemental puzzles sprinkled in.
If you grew up with the show, it’s a fun little nostalgia trip. The music even sneaks in a chiptune version of the theme.
