About Atlantis : The Lost Empire
Atlantis: The Lost Empire came out for the Game Boy Color in 2001, published by Disney Interactive. It was part of that wave of licensed games that tried to capture a movie's story on the small screen. You don't see many people talking about it now, but back then, if you were a fan of the film, it was one of the ways you could jump into that world yourself.
In the game, you control Milo Thatch, and your goal is to find the lost civilization of Atlantis. You move screen by screen through different environments, using a sword to fight off creatures and solve environmental puzzles. A key part of the game is collecting special crystals, which are needed to progress and unlock new areas. The pacing is fairly straightforward, though some jumps and enemy patterns can be tricky. Playing it feels like a condensed, hands-on version of the movie's adventure.
