Atlantis: The Lost Empire on GBA is basically like playing through the movie—but with way more button-mashing. You start off as Milo, stumbling through ancient ruins, dodging traps, and solving these weird sliding block puzzles that make you question if Atlanteans had too much time on their hands.
The sprites are surprisingly colorful for a handheld game, and some of the enemy designs (especially those creepy fish-guards) stick with you. Combat’s simple—swing your crystal thing, jump over pits—but there’s something satisfying about whacking those robotic sentinels before they zap you.
Fans of the film will spot little details, like the Leviathan chase or Kida’s glowing tattoos, but even if you missed the movie, it’s a solid side-scroller with just enough exploration to feel like you’re uncovering secrets. Just don’t expect deep lore—half the dialogue is basically “Milo says something nerdy, then everyone runs from collapsing ruins.” Classic GBA charm.
