Atlantis: The Lost Empire on GBA is one of those licensed games that actually nails the movie’s vibe—you play as Milo, Kida, Vinny, and Audrey, each with their own quirks. Milo’s the brains, obviously, but Vinny’s explosives make platforming way more chaotic (in a good way). The levels mix exploration with some light puzzle-solving, and the sprite work captures the movie’s steampunk-meets-ancient aesthetic surprisingly well for a handheld.

It’s not just a straight retelling, either—there are new areas and challenges that expand on the story. The switching between characters keeps things from getting stale, though I’ll admit some of the later platforming bits can get a little finicky. Still, if you’re into the movie or just want a solid GBA action-adventure, this one holds up better than most Disney tie-ins.
