Atlantis: The Lost Empire on GBA is one of those licensed games that actually tries to do something interesting—you switch between four characters from the movie, each with their own skills, as you explore ruins, solve puzzles, and fight off weird creatures. Milo’s the brains, Vinny blows stuff up, Audrey’s quick with a knife, and Mole… well, he digs. It’s got that classic early 2000s Disney vibe, with decent sprite work and some surprisingly tricky platforming sections.
At first, I thought it’d just be a basic movie tie-in, but the puzzles actually make you think, and swapping characters on the fly keeps things from getting stale. The underground temple levels are the highlight—lots of traps to dodge and hidden paths to uncover. Just don’t expect it to be a cakewalk; some of those jumps are brutal if you’re not careful.
If you grew up with the movie or just dig old-school action-adventure games, it’s a solid little GBA gem.
