If you grew up with Asterix comics, this GBA beat 'em up nails the chaotic energy of the series. You start off smacking Roman soldiers with Obelix's ridiculous strength or Asterix's quicker attacks—I always go Obelix because sending enemies flying never gets old. The animations are surprisingly fluid for a handheld game, especially when you trigger their special moves (watch for the boar roast attack).

Levels are packed with little details from the comics—Vitalstatistix getting carried on a shield, Getafix mixing potions in the background. The co-op mode’s where it really shines though; my brother and I used to argue over who got to be Obelix while wrecking entire Roman camps. Just don’t expect deep combat—it’s pure, dumb fun with a nostalgia kick.

Also, the soundtrack has that weirdly catchy tavern music that’ll stick in your head for days.
