You control Sarge, leading a small squad of green plastic soldiers against the tan army. Your main goal is to complete various missions, which usually involve destroying all enemy units or reaching a specific point on the map. The game plays out screen by screen; you clear one area of enemies before moving to the next. You can switch between different soldier types, like the standard rifleman or a flamethrower unit, each with their own strengths. The difficulty can be unforgiving, as enemy soldiers respawn quickly if you linger too long. It feels like a tense, small-scale war fought on a kitchen table.
