AquaLife on the Game Boy Color is one of those weird little strategy games that somehow makes managing a virtual aquarium way more intense than it should be. You start off with a tiny tank and a couple of basic fish, but before long you're juggling water quality, food supplies, and trying not to accidentally kill off your prize angelfish because you forgot to clean the filter. The pixel art is charming in that classic GBC way—everything’s a little blurry but full of personality. And yeah, it’s in Japanese, but the menus are simple enough that you can figure it out after some trial and error (or just a lot of button-mashing).

It’s oddly satisfying when your tank finally stabilizes and your fish start breeding. Just don’t get too attached—sometimes they die for no reason, and that’s just life, I guess.
