About Aqualife
Aqualife came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, a time when handheld games were often about simple, clear adventures. It was developed by Bit Managers and published by Infogrames, fitting right in with other exploratory titles of that era. You don't hear much about it now, but it had a specific charm for players looking for something a bit different on the small screen.
In the game, you control a diver exploring the ocean depths. Your main goal is to navigate through interconnected underwater areas, screen by screen, to uncover the secrets of a sunken civilization. Your primary tools are a harpoon for defending against aggressive sea creatures and a submersible vehicle you can enter for safer travel and to access new passages. The pacing is deliberate; you move carefully, managing your air supply while solving environmental puzzles to progress. It feels like a quiet, solitary journey through a mysterious and sometimes dangerous world.
