Antz Racing on Game Boy Color is exactly what it sounds like—ants racing in tiny cars, and honestly, it’s way more fun than it has any right to be. You pick your bug (I always went with the beetle—something about that shell just felt right), and then you’re off, weaving through tracks made of leaves, dirt mounds, and picnic tables. The controls are simple, but the courses get surprisingly tricky, especially when you hit a patch of dew or some jerk ant rams you into a soda can.

The graphics are bright and cartoony, with that classic GBC charm, and the races are short enough that you can squeeze in a few rounds between, say, pretending to pay attention in class. It’s not the deepest racer out there, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about outmaneuvering a line of ants on a twig bridge. If you’ve got a soft spot for weird little retro games, this one’s a solid pick.
