I picked up Antz Racing for the Game Boy Color back in 1999, a title published by Infogrames. It was one of many licensed games trying to find a place on the handheld during its peak years, a straightforward racing game built around the animated film.

You control one of several ant characters, racing through a series of underground tracks. The main goal is simply to finish first in each cup, navigating tight tunnels and avoiding obstacles like pebbles or larger bugs. A couple of mechanics stand out: you can collect power-ups that give you a temporary speed boost or let you drop hazards to slow down the other racers. The tracks are multi-layered and often loop around themselves, which makes learning the layouts important.
