About Alf
Alf for the Sega Master System came out in 1989, developed by Sega and based on the TV show. It was one of many licensed platformers from that time, a familiar sight for anyone with an 8-bit console. You control the furry alien ALF, who has crash-landed on Earth and needs to find parts to repair his spaceship.
You guide ALF through side-scrolling levels, jumping between platforms and over pits. The main goal is to collect pieces of your ship scattered across the stages. You can punch enemies or use a limited supply of tomatoes as projectiles. The game is structured screen by screen, and you often have to find keys to unlock doors blocking your path. It moves at a steady pace, but some jumps require precise timing, and the limited lives can make it challenging. Playing it feels like a straightforward, sometimes tricky, run through a cartoon world.
