About Aggressive Inline
Aggressive Inline came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of that wave of extreme sports games that tried to capture the feel of console titles on the handheld. You controlled a rollerblader, and the main goal was to get through each level by performing tricks to build up your score and maintain your speed. The game was structured around navigating these large, multi-path courses, finding the best lines to chain grinds, jumps, and manuals together.
Your primary objective was to beat the high score or complete specific challenges within a time limit. Signature mechanics included the trick system, where you executed flips and spins by combining directional inputs and buttons, and the manual ability, which let you balance on two wheels to extend combos. The pacing was fast, and the difficulty came from linking moves smoothly without bailing. It felt fluid when you nailed a long combo, a satisfying rush of motion and timing.
