About Agassi Tennis Generation 2002 (e)(mode7)
Agassi Tennis Generation 2002 came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Aqua Pacific and published by Ubisoft. It was one of the few tennis titles on the handheld, arriving when sports games were starting to find a solid footing on the platform. The game features Andre Agassi on the cover, placing it squarely in that era of athlete endorsed sports simulations.
You control a tennis player from a behind the back perspective, moving your character to hit forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves. The main objective is to win tournaments by defeating a series of opponents across different court surfaces like grass and clay. Two signature mechanics are the power shot, which you charge up for a more forceful return, and the ability to aim your shots with the D pad to place the ball away from your opponent. The pacing is generally quick, though the computer can be unforgiving on higher difficulty levels, demanding precise positioning and timing. It feels like a fast paced, condensed version of tennis that fits well in your hands.
