About Action Man - Robot Atak (e)(rising Sun)
I picked up Action Man: Robot Atak for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004. It was published by Natsume, a company known for a lot of GBA titles from that period. This was a time when licensed games based on cartoons were common, and this one fit right into that category on the handheld.
You control Action Man, running through levels from a side view. Your main goal is to stop the villain, Dr. X, and his robotic army. The gameplay involves moving screen by screen, using a laser sword for close combat and a grappling hook to swing across gaps. You also collect key cards to unlock doors, which breaks up the straightforward action. The pacing is quick, and some sections can be surprisingly difficult, demanding precise jumps and attacks. It feels like a brisk, challenging run-and-slash game from start to finish.
