I picked up this Game Boy Advance cart, 2 In 1 - Scooby-Doo & Scooby-Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed. It's a compilation from THQ that came out around the time when licensed games were a common sight on the handheld. You get two separate adventures based on the live-action movies, which was a pretty standard value proposition for GBA double packs back then.

You control Shaggy and Scooby-Doo through side-scrolling levels, running and jumping across spooky locations like a factory or a museum. The main goal is to solve mysteries, which mostly involves navigating each screen, avoiding enemies, and finding items like snacks or keys to unlock new areas. A signature mechanic is using Scooby Snacks to distract the various monsters that chase you; you just toss one and they stop to eat it, giving you a chance to slip past. Another is the transformation system in the second game, where you can temporarily turn into a stronger version of yourself to break certain obstacles. The pacing is straightforward but the controls can feel a bit slippery, making some jumps more difficult than they should be. It feels like a simple, sometimes clumsy, but occasionally charming way to pass the time with the Mystery Inc. crew.
