About Zoop
Zoop came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, developed by Hookstone Ltd. It was one of those many puzzle games on the platform, arriving when the SNES library was already packed with established hits. You wouldn't call it a system seller, but it had its own quiet spot on the shelf.
You control a small cursor at the center of the screen, and colored shapes come at you from all four sides. Your main job is to shoot the shapes that match your cursor's color before they reach the middle. If you hit a shape of a different color, your cursor changes to that color, which forces you to constantly adapt your strategy. The game speeds up gradually, and the challenge comes from managing the converging lines and making quick color matches. It feels like a tense, focused scramble to keep the center clear.
