Zool - Ninja of the Nth Dimension is one of those weird, hyperactive SNES platformers that feels like it was designed after someone drank six energy drinks. You play as this alien ninja—yeah, a ninja from space—who jumps, slides, and slices through candy-colored levels packed with bizarre enemies. The controls are slippery in that old-school way where you’ll overshoot jumps at first, but once you get the rhythm down, it’s oddly satisfying.
The music’s got that early ‘90s synth vibe, and the levels are so bright they practically glow. Some of the platforming gets brutal later on, but the sheer absurdity of fighting giant gummy bears and hopping across floating CDs keeps it fun. Definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up with it, or just a quirky time capsule if you didn’t.
