About Zero The Kamikaze Squirrel (europe) (rev A)
Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, developed by Iguana Entertainment. It was part of that wave of mid-90s platformers where every character seemed to have an attitude and a gimmick, a familiar sight on store shelves next to its contemporaries.
You control Zero, a squirrel who attacks by spinning like a buzzsaw. Your goal is to stop the villainous Baron Von Butcher from turning the forest into a theme park. The game is structured screen by screen; you clear enemies from an area before you can proceed. You collect power-ups for your spin attack and hunt for keys to unlock later stages. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with precise jumps required over instant-death pits. Playing it feels like a frantic dash where one wrong move sends you back to the start.
