Yoshi’s Cookie on SNES is one of those puzzle games that seems simple at first—just line up rows of cookies to clear the board—but gets surprisingly tricky fast. The first few levels ease you in with basic vanilla and chocolate chip tiles, but before long, you’re staring at a grid of rotating cookies, trying to figure out how to match five in a row while the timer ticks down.
What I love is how it feels like a mix of Tetris and a sliding puzzle, but with Yoshi grinning at you from the corner of the screen. The music’s cheerful, almost too cheerful when you’re stuck on a level for the tenth time. And yeah, the later stages? Brutal. You’ll be twisting rows and columns, second-guessing every move.
It’s not just mindless matching—there’s actual strategy in how you shift the rows. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a move to set up a bigger combo. Definitely one of those “just one more try” games, even when it drives you nuts. If you like puzzles with a side of nostalgia, this one’s a solid pick.
