Yoshi no Cookie is this weird little puzzle game from the NES era where Yoshi bakes cookies—because sure, why not? You slide rows of cookie pieces around to match flavors, and it starts off simple until the screen fills up with way too many strawberry and chocolate chunks. The music’s oddly catchy, though, and there’s something satisfying about clearing a whole row at once.
It’s not exactly a deep strategy game, but it’s the kind of thing you’ll zone out to for way longer than you planned. Also, the Japanese version has this goofy little dance Yoshi does when you mess up, which is honestly the best part.
