About X-men - Mutant Apocalypse (europe)
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed and published by Capcom. It was part of that wave of solid licensed games on the SNES, where you could actually feel the developer's experience with action titles coming through.
You control one of five X-Men, like Cyclops or Wolverine, fighting through screen by screen stages on Genosha. Your main goal is to stop the villain Apocalypse from awakening, which involves navigating platforming sections and defeating waves of enemies. Each character has a unique set of special moves, activated with specific button combinations, and you can switch between them for certain stages to tackle different environmental challenges. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be punishing, demanding precise jumps and quick reactions to enemy attacks. It feels responsive and challenging in that particular way Capcom games from that era often did.
