World League Basketball (Europe) is one of those SNES sports games that feels a little rough around the edges but still has its charm. The Mode 7 graphics give the court a cool pseudo-3D tilt when you're shooting free throws, which was pretty slick for the time. You've got real college teams here, though don't expect perfect likenesses—this was the 16-bit era, after all.
Gameplay's straightforward: pick your squad, run some fast breaks, and try not to get frustrated when the AI swats your layups into the stands. The controls take a minute to get used to—passing feels a little stiff at first, but you adjust. It's no NBA Jam, but if you're into retro basketball sims, it's a decent time-killer. Just don't go in expecting modern mechanics.
