World Heroes on SNES is one of those early '90s fighting games that feels like a time capsule—rough around the edges, but full of charm. You’ve got a weird mix of fighters, from ninjas like Hanzo to absolute tanks like Muscle Power, and they all handle differently enough that button-mashing won’t save you. The special moves aren’t as smooth as Street Fighter, but there’s something satisfying about landing a clunky fireball or watching your character do a ridiculous super jump.
It’s definitely a product of its era—the pixel art has that chunky, colorful SNES look, and the AI can be brutal in that old-school way where the CPU reads your inputs like a psychic. Playing against a friend is where it shines, though. You’ll both be laughing at how over-the-top some of the animations are, especially when someone gets hit by a random stage hazard. Not the deepest fighter out there, but it’s got personality. If you’re into retro brawlers, this one’s worth a few rounds.
