About World Heroes (japan)
World Heroes came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed by Alpha Denshi. It was part of that early wave of SNES fighting games, arriving when players were eager to see how the console would handle the genre.
You control one of several historical and fictional fighters, like a ninja or a martial artist, and face opponents in one-on-one battles across different stages. The main goal is to defeat all challengers to become the champion. The game includes a few distinct mechanics, such as a two-tiered life bar and a Death Match mode where hazards like electric walls appear. Matches can feel quite fast, and the computer opponents offer a decent challenge. It feels like a straightforward arcade port that captures the basic energy of a fighting game from that period.
