About World Heroes 2 (japan)
World Heroes 2 came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, a conversion of ADK's earlier Neo Geo arcade fighter. It was part of that wave of ports trying to bring the arcade experience home, sitting alongside a lot of other one-on-one brawlers on the system.
You pick a fighter from a roster of historical and fictional characters, then face off against the rest of the cast one by one. The main goal is to win two rounds against each opponent to become the champion. Its signature mechanics include a two-tiered super meter for special moves and the Death Match mode, where stages have hazards like electric fences or spikes that change the way you approach a fight. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the computer can be quite punishing if you don't learn the timing for counters and throws. It feels like a solid, straightforward fighter that demands you pay attention to spacing and your opponent's patterns.
