About Wondrous Magic (japan)
Wondrous Magic came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed by Square. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that were figuring out what the new hardware could do, offering a different kind of adventure from the usual action titles.
You control a young apprentice traveling with his elderly wizard master. Your main goal is to protect your master and help him complete his journey, which involves navigating through a series of distinct screens. Combat happens in real time, and enemies frequently swarm you from all sides, forcing you to constantly reposition yourself to defend against attacks from multiple directions. You explore dungeons and the overworld screen by screen, and the pacing is deliberate, with a difficulty that can feel unforgiving if you are not careful.
