Players control an operative tasked with rescuing a kidnapped CIA director known as "The Boss." The mission involves navigating through various urban districts, from ruined zones to wealthy mansions, in a linear progression. Gameplay centers on hand-to-hand combat using punches and kicks, supplemented by a limited-use firearm. A unique mechanic is the presence of a trained panther that accompanies the player, offering assistance during fights. Players confront waves of standard enemies and more challenging gang leaders, with enemy proficiency increasing in later stages.

The game's structure is divided into distinct stages, each culminating in a confrontation. Players must manage resources, such as ammunition for the firearm, which is particularly advised for use against powerful boss characters. Upon locating the hostage, the objective shifts to escorting the weakened "The Boss" back to safety, introducing a protective element where the player must defend a vulnerable companion during the return journey through hostile territory.
