About Waynes World
Wayne's World came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, published by THQ. It was one of many games from that period trying to capture the spirit of a popular movie on a 16-bit console. You get to step into the shoes of Wayne and Garth, bringing their public access TV show vibe into a side-scrolling adventure.
You control Wayne, and sometimes Garth joins you for certain sections. The main goal is to progress through a series of levels, from the local mall to a heavy metal concert, to ultimately produce a successful television broadcast. Your primary actions involve walking, jumping across platforms, and using your guitar as a weapon to strum enemies. You also collect items like "Excellents" and "Babes" for points and extra lives. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the platforming can be quite unforgiving with its precise jump requirements. Playing it feels like a direct, if sometimes challenging, translation of the movie's chaotic energy into a classic SNES format.
