Man, WarpSpeed On SNES is one of those games that makes you wish you had a CRT TV just to soak in the neon glow of its pixelated space battles. You jump right into this top-down shooter where everything moves just a little too fast—enemy ships zip around, lasers spray everywhere, and your thumbs start cramping up within minutes. The first level throws these weird, wormhole-looking gates at you, and if you don’t time your warp jumps right, you’ll slam into an asteroid or get shredded by turrets.
The soundtrack’s got that classic SNES synth vibe, all bleeps and bloops that somehow make dodging a swarm of drones feel epic. I kept dying on the third stage because some of the enemy patterns are just brutal, but when you finally nail a perfect run, it’s stupidly satisfying. Not gonna lie, the hitboxes can be janky—sometimes you swear you dodged that missile, but nope, you’re space dust. Still, if you’re into that ’90s arcade-style chaos, this one’s a blast (pun intended).
Just don’t expect a deep story—you’re basically a tiny ship trying not to explode while the universe throws everything at you.
