War 3010 - The Revolution is one of those SNES games that feels like it slipped under the radar—probably because it came out late in the console’s life. You play as a rebel leader in a dystopian 3010, blasting through oppressive forces with a mix of run-and-gun action and some light strategy elements. The controls take a minute to get used to (why does jumping feel so heavy?), but once you adjust, the combat’s actually pretty satisfying.
The pixel art holds up, especially the gritty cityscapes and those weird, bulky enemy mechs. And yeah, the story’s cheesy in that classic '90s way—lots of dramatic pauses and vague speeches about freedom—but it works. If you’re into obscure SNES action games, this one’s worth digging up.
