About Vs. Collection (japan)
Vs. Collection came out in 1996 for the Super Nintendo, a late release from Bottom Up that gathered several of their earlier arcade games into one cartridge. It arrived near the end of the SNES lifespan, a time when many players were already looking ahead to newer systems, so it felt like a final surprise for the 16 bit era.
You control different characters across a series of short action games, moving screen by screen to defeat all the enemies before you can proceed. Your main objective is simply to survive each stage and rack up a high score, using a sword for close combat or a bow for attacking from a distance. The pacing is quick and the difficulty can be unforgiving, demanding precise movements and fast reactions to enemy patterns. Finishing a tough stage gives a real sense of relief and accomplishment.
