About Volleyball Twin (japan)
Volleyball Twin came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by Tonkin House. It was one of the earlier sports titles on the system, arriving when developers were still figuring out what the new hardware could do. You get a straightforward volleyball game, but with a two player cooperative twist that was less common at the time.
You control a pair of players on the same team, switching between them with a button press to cover the court. The main goal is to win matches by outscoring the computer opponents. Your main actions are serving, bumping, setting, and spiking the ball; the key mechanic is managing both of your characters, positioning one for a set and the other for the final attack. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the computer can be surprisingly aggressive, making you work for every point. It feels like a test of your coordination, both with the controls and in anticipating where the ball will go next.
