About Ushio To Tora (japan)
Ushio to Tora came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, developed by Yutaka. It was part of that wave of games based on popular manga and anime, a familiar sight on the SNES. You don't see many people talk about it now, but it was there, another action title on the shelf.
You control Ushio, a boy who wields the Beast Spear. The goal is straightforward: fight through stages to defeat the demonic forces threatening Japan. The game plays out screen by screen; you clear all the enemies in one area before you can move to the next. Combat is simple, relying on your spear thrusts, and you can also find a bow for some ranged attacks. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with enemies coming at you from all sides. Playing it feels like a constant, hectic scramble to survive.
