About Unirally (europe)
Unirally came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by DMA Design, the same studio that would later create Grand Theft Auto. It was a racing game that felt different from anything else on the system at the time, built around a simple but clever premise.
You control a unicycle, a single wheel with a personality, and race against an opponent on a 2D track. The main goal is straightforward: finish first. Your speed, however, is entirely tied to performing tricks. Landing flips and spins fills a boost meter, letting you surge ahead. The tracks are filled with ramps and loops that demand precise timing to chain stunts together for maximum speed. The game moves fast, and a single mistake can kill your momentum, making the races surprisingly tense. It feels like a constant, fluid dance between risk and reward just to stay competitive.
