Undercover Cops on SNES is one of those beat 'em ups that doesn’t mess around—right from the jump, you’re thrown into grimy streets, punching thugs into trash cans and tossing them through windows like it’s nothing. The pixel art has this rough, almost comic-book style that makes every hit feel weighty, and the soundtrack? Pure early '90s adrenaline.

You pick from three cops (I always went with the big guy—his piledriver move is stupidly satisfying), and then it’s just you versus waves of goons. Some fights get chaotic, especially when weapons like pipes or knives get involved, but that’s half the fun. The bosses are ridiculous in the best way—one’s literally a guy in a mech suit—and co-op turns the whole thing into a glorious mess of elbows and screen-filling special moves.

It’s not the deepest brawler out there, but if you want something that feels like an arcade cabinet crammed into a cartridge, this is it. Just don’t expect to keep your quarters.
